really the worse thing to look out for is moisture, loose tobacco can mold easy.. well even cigarettes or cigars that is why they stored in a humidor
a cheap route if on the go is a Desiccant Pack, its the same thing you find in jerky and suck other foods... just make sure it food grade. infact not sure how you are buying it, but there is probably one inside the pouch already. then try to remove majority of air and seal it
Fair point but at the moment drying out seems to be the bigger issue.
At the moment I'm getting it in from places like 4noggins, smokingpipes, and occasionally my local guy, they just stuff the bulk in a heavy grade ziplock and ship it/hand it over.
But it's a good thought to bear in mind all the same.
I have a gallon container of food grade silica gel in the garage, if need be I can use that in something food safe.
you dont want to smoke it, get the packets like i suggested, the are like 10 cents a piece....
Gotcha, but I make food grade crap from time to time, have some food grade filament for the printers and a dedicated machine for just such things.
Speaking of though, any experience with the boveda packs?
Supposedly they regulate that kind of thing
