I made it through Survival School and my field exercises because of chewing tobacco. I would go through 2-3 logs in a week. After 15 years, I had quit chewing. I quit for 3 years (minus a 1 month lapse). I used to chew lots of gum, but the latest time quitting I went to a pipe or cigar at night. I go all day without a craving and really enjoy pipes and cigars. Ultimately, like everything, it is moderation.
how did tobacco get you through survival school? the effect??
you mean you had to quit?
the pipe and cigar was different from your chew. if you tried the stuff you got in logs you probably would have relapsed.
yes nicotine's therapeutic index is far lower than what most consume.
Because it is an appetite suppressant and a stimulant. Survival school had very limited food, and during ftx you’re up for 23hrs a day moving. Even when doing a 15mi ruck, I will would put one in. I had been chewing for so long created a recess in 3 of my teeth (not a cavity) where I would typically put it. Despite trying my best to always move it, habits are hard to break. Also, swallowing a bunch of tobacco will help clear out parasites in a pinch.
it intoxicates while doing rigourous activity and disasociates the mind from it, yes.
as you know well it constricts blood vessles and on a hike/ruck march/PT during FTX itll cause cramping and premature fatigue.
the parasite thing i bet actually works damn well and would be worth my time researching.
goodday im done trolling you
e, nootropics and creatine and beta alinine would be a good mix for survivalists looking to supplant the can of dipchew. ibuprophen shrinks balls in study after regular use for 6 months or weeks.
