If anyone is looking for a cheap way to stock up on fine tobacco, this is where I go. For about $2000, I have gotten around $8000 worth of tobacco (MSRP). Great deals on both pipe tobacco and cigars. Of course, please support your B&M (brick and mortar) stores when able, but this is the cheapest way to fill your humidor. Note of caution; it is dangerous and slightly addicting. If anyone else knows of other good sites, post it!

So is it every day I buy something is only $1 per item after the first one, or is it every pouch is lumped together, every cigar pack, etc.? It is not clear at all. I need to start doing that. Unfortunately you cannot smoke indoors around where I live and patios are unusable this time of year.

So, how it used to be was.....a flat fee for every item covering shipping. Buying big objects like humidors is a higher shipping cost than cigars, but minimum was $5. Additionally, you can have items you "win" ship to you Daily or Weekly.

If you buy one item a day and ship every day, then you pay for regular shipping cost on the lot. If you buy three items one day and ship that day, then you get a discount on the shipping depending on the category, but generally is a buck. So, first item is $5, second is $1, third is $1.

However, if you choose to ship one day (Thursday, for example), then you get a discount on the shipping cost for the items you buy over that week period. So, if you buy 15 items over the week, you should pay full shipping on first item and then a buck for the rest.

At least that's how I understood it. I never really bought a lot, mostly just Ashtons or a Opus (when they were available), about twice a month. I did get a few boxes over the years. Did lots of trades, so that was really how I got more sticks.

It would be awesome to find a local group that enjoys that. I live in an old 114 yr old "mansion" that I turned one of the basement laundry rooms into a billiards room. Has that cool old feel to the house. Maybe I should start hosting a club. The problem is, people always try to mooch. So you'd trade with people in your club?

Right on man. You shouldn't call it a club, unless you want zoning issues, maybe. I could be talking out of my ass, but if you're trying to get a place that you can actually smoke without being hassled, then there might be issues.

I live in Cal, and people got around this shit by having a "private club" requiring membership. Then inside, you can smoke, drink, shoot pool, play darts, just hang....whatever. Now, no-one is meeting in an establishment.

The guys from CB were almost always way over the top in what they bring to smoke, trades, or gifts. I received my first few cubans and a few OpusX (because he said he wanted to get rid of the domestics....) from just meeting up with folks at a bar. Trades are done on the website, I just looked and there's a separate forum for that (didn't used to be). If you haven't traded before, then you may not get the friendly treatment; but in the description just call out that you would like to try a few things (list them out, like My Father, Cohiba, etc). You'll have to show what you have in return. Typically say something like "Newbie trader looking to trade a few sticks", and see what responses you get.

And usually, you pack in more sticks that is agreed to, this is also a good way to have people call this out. I've received hats, hot sauce, beer coozies, a knife, a lithograph believe it or not, and many other things.
