Honestly at this point I am wondering if the kids are the sane ones. Maybe they actually are the opposite sex and these fuckers have tried to brainwash them from birth that they are a boy/girl. Kids realise there is a difference between boys and girls by the age of 5-6, and they are generally adamant about what constitutes being a boy or girl by then (unless you get into their heads and fuck them up). I would not at all be surprised if the kids realised that they weren't the boy/girl their parents said they were and rebelled. But then again, its Hollyjewed... Either way, Africa was the better choice.
