The Question was asked with honest intentions.

But there are no honest questions. All questions are trick questions.

All questions asked to you are from people who want you to divulge information.

Information you may have kept to yourself. Personal information. Private information.

And they want to know all of it. They want to pick your brain.

They want to know what you think. They want to know how you think.

Why would they ever want this knowledge, if not to understand your thought process?

Maybe they want to work with you better.

But another way of saying that, would be to say that they want to alter your behavior, and their behavior, so that you can more effectively achieve The Goal.

Sounds pretty insidious, to me, doesn't it?

But don't trust me.

Because I just asked you a question, didn't I?

Information you may have kept to yourself. Personal information. Private information. And they want to know all of it. They want to pick your brain. They want to know what you think. They want to know *how* you think. Why would they ever want this knowledge, if not to understand your thought process? Maybe they want to work with you better. But another way of saying that, would be to say that they want to alter your behavior, and their behavior, so that you can more effectively achieve **The Goal**. Just tell me your bank account # and PIN # and be done with it.

My question: would you like a beer?

Sure. Let us sit down and talk for a moment.

About what sir?

Another question.

I'll ask you a question.

A question you have no desire to answer.

A question I have no business asking you.

You'll feel offended at first.

This is natural.

This is part of the process.

You won't want to respond.

But, then, your brain will start to itch.

It will first happen when you try to fall asleep. You won't be able to.

What did Theo mean?

Why would he ask me this?

And how could I ever answer it?

The lights will shine through your window, and every noise will claw at your brain like nails on a chalkboard.

And you won't sleep.

Because the question does not have a simple answer.

My question is this:

Why?
