I had a History professor who always said if you don't learn your history, you are always doomed to repeat it. Seems like people haven't learned. Just like in WW2 they tried to make fuel out of corn, it was useless for the most part. They learned that it made more sense to use the corn to make food or eat it and burn the gas. And we're still putting alcohol in gas. This been going on 10 years or more now? So stupid.

Well the reason we use ethanol in the US is as a subsidy to the farmers in the mid west. They're a huge voting block.

Yep. It lowers the mileage of the pure gas. And the price of corn went way up for feed for animals.
