These vehicles use metal hydrides to store the Hydrogen. The gas is actually absorbed into a matrix of larger atoms under fairly low pressures. Probably safer than gasoline. H2 will rise if it leaks and the flame is clear and also rises. The horrible flames of the Hindenburg fire resulted from the fabric which was coated with a sealer containing powdered aluminum.

These so called scientists need to get their shit together: they can't design a safe and effective vaccine, can't build lithium batteries that don't spontaneously explode with fire, can't build an aircraft that stays aloft and can't design a simple cantilever bridge that lasts long enough to use it.
