Real County Sheriff Nathan Johnson said the animal was found 'fat and happy' after a helicopter was brought in by her owner in the desperate bid to track her down.
The giraffe was spotted about 4 miles south of her enclosure during an aerial search in the Texas Hill Country, Johnson said.
Gracie’s owner, Vick Jones, had contacted a veterinarian and began putting together a team to bring the giraffe safely back to the ranch, the sheriff added.
