Don't see this ever changing on the short term, many farmers and other industries use this immigrants for cheap labor, it's a catch 22 for this people: they would have to pay a decent/good salary for people to pick food or do other menial jobs, which in turn will drive the price of food up, which in turn would have to drive other industries to increase their salaries as well, as you can see in this scenario, workers will benefit while corporations will suffer, hence the lobbying taking place to take no action.

Since those "lobbies" will keep giving money to politicians to keep things as they are, this won't change until Texas become and independent nation, not needing to pay heed to DC's politicians.
