I get that mods can create their own rules and define SPAM in their subs. I have no issue with that at all. The clarification I mentioned was related to the site-wide rule that I posted. Something like, "SPAM can be defined as, but not limited to, actions such as..."
The comment related to the doxxing statement (the period) is that it would be more grammatically correct as (No doxxing.)
I agree that the general TOS does not define SPAM. Hence, it has no real meaning since its not defined as there is no generally recognized definition of "SPAM".
As far as doxxing, the TOS is clear that SENSITIVE information dissemination (other that re-telling what a user already provides to us) is prohibited. General, nonsensitive information is permitted to be disseminated. Since the TOS does not define "sensitive" it goes by the general rule that its stuff that a person makes effort to keep secret. I think a Social Security number is one thing that is generally considered to be sensitive, unless its shown that a person freely gives this information out w/o concern (a rarity). The "(No doxxing)" is just so people can reference the rule easily.
Clear rules are a must.
Clear rules are a must.
For a forum like this, hell yeah.
