grandma said to keep a 2 dollar bill in my wallet and I've done it ever since. It came it handy once when I needed to buy limes for a chick during a margarita run, but she saw and felt bad about it and I didn't get lucky so thanks a lot grandma

I was thinking more $20 might buy you enough gas to drive home, but to each his own.

And in the Handlebar of every motorcycle, just pull the rubber grip off. Has gotten me home…also donated a few to whoever finds it after I sold them.

Cash in wallet, 20$, and cash in safe. If I travel a sbort distance, (an hour in Texas) I carry 50-60$. I ussually keep vehicle half tank.

My father kept 40 dollars in an envelope taped to the top of the glove box, enough at the time, to get the car towed home, because of inflation I keep 200, but taped inside a panel in the dash. It has saved me more than once. The other car advise my father gave me was to buy your wife a small gift from her favorite store and keep it under the passenger seat, so if there is an anniversary, birthday, etc that you may have forgotten you can just grab the emergency gift.

I go to an ATM every couple weeks, pick up a couple hundred and replenish my wallet as needed. Over 90% of what I buy is paid in cash.
