Previously on 'The Wisdom Tooth': Had a wisdom tooth pulled and, according to the doc, when she checked after a week everything looked great. Had no problems and pain to speak of.

About two days later, the joint of my jaw, on the side where the tooth was pulled, started hurting and it became painful to open my mouth fully. This got worse and now I can't open or close fully without significant pain. Talked to the doctor again because I was worried about infection and she said it's a muscle/joint problem. She recommends warmth and physical therapy.

This has persisted now for more than a week. Got partial relieve after I warmed the area with a warm-water-bag for a while. The next day I could close my mouth again fully but it didn't last and the problem returned later that day. Repeated the warm-water-bag treatment in the evening without much success, if any.

On the plus side, I now know that if you heat a 2 liter warm-water-bag in the microwave for 6 minutes at one kilowatt, it has the right amount of heat stored within it to not burn you and last maybe an hour.

I fucking love soup now.

The one that got pulled had some damage. Both the dentist and I don't understand why. It had to go. For what you're describing, I would def leave them alone.
