Ok, I'll try that.

I usually start with 2 grams an hour until bowel tolerance is reached. I've been taking vitamin c a long time so it's easier on my stomach than most. If you do the 2g every hour, don't trust a fart. When I am sick I have taken 8 grams first hour and 4grams second hour and by the third hour I reach bowel tolerance and back it down to 2 grams every hour. If I'm not sick and take 8 grams at once, I can barely make it to the toilet.
I say this because the maximum concentration of vitamin c in the blood stream is what your bowels are able to handle. So by reaching bowel tolerance, you would have the most vitamin c allowable via oral administration. To achieve higher concentration, you'd have to inject it.
When using vitamin c for suspected infection, you want the highest blood concentration as possible. Vitamin c is water soluble so it exits your body quickly. Thus, you need to take it every hour. Stay hydrated as well.
Thanks. Keep you posted.
If you can get your hands on some not time released vitamin c, that would be better. What you have can work in a pinch, just crush it up. OK I'm done.
