They’re not all furries, or TDS sufferers. I saw a story on Australia’s social media ban for people under 16 and the discussion was not entirely ridiculous. I had to scroll for a while, but I found a comment thread of people who understood it has nothing to do with protecting children, it’s to force all adults to identify themselves online so they can be centrally tracked.
