Just popping in to say hello because I haven't posted in awhile.

I went on my annual long bird hunting trip and had a damn good time! I ended up with 6 ducks and just one Rooster Pheasant. I saw lots of pheasant but they just seemed to be coming up real early this year and they were also way out in the swampiest of spots. Not really in a good place to be shooting them. They kept flying out over lakes and big cat tail swamps where I couldn't retrieve them.

That's okay, there will be more trips.

Never thought about it but lead shit was good for a reason. TIR: things I read. Fact: No other non-toxic shot has a performance pattern so close to lead as Bismuth Shot.

That would imply that that led is superior. Why? Seems the imperfections in lead help to break up the surface tension of the air, like a golf ball.

Never gave it much thought. I just shoot. One year, I had a perfect shot record, actually one under par.

For every bird I shot at, one fell. Besides one, where I happen to hit two birds.

Then the next year I ran through 3 cases and didn’t hit one bird.

It’s like I forgot how, or was over thinking it.

Yea, lead is the best. Bismuth is a very close second but not poisoning the ground for the little bunnies.

I only shot 10 shells this year and brought back 7 birds. Not too shabby. 2 of my shots were Hail Marys at "Low" flying Canadian Geese. They were not as low as I hoped.
