Had a 1k piece of jewelry come from amazon that was supposed to handed to a person. I waited and waited and went to the mailbox and found it there.

The driver posted they had handed it to someone on the invoice.

It's against the law (a felony actually) to put anything in a mailbox besides stamped mail. I repeat this all the time to anyone distributing GTV flyers. It's an easy way to end up in jail.

Amazon uses USPS for last mile. And likely they put it in the box.

The OTP code is sent to your email, so this prevents that, but not theft of items in boxes.

You could also do what most businesses do: verify each item before signing off on the delivery (giving the delivery person the code). Quickly open each box while the delivery person waits and verify that all of the correct items are present.
