A few years ago a prior employer wanted to bring on Aflac but didn't get the number of required people to enroll and boy were they pissed. In fact, this was during the early part of Obamacare and insurance coverage dropped like a rock. The only reason I found out was I was buddies with an HR person.
Were they getting some sort of kickback or something?
I am not sure about Aflac but I do know there was a so call "chief IT architect" who couldn't buy enough M$ licenses and vowed to "put that god damn mainframe on the curb". He said it in every meeting he was in. He wanted server farms of M$ clusters to run the business. ALL of us called him out on it on the regular of how that wouldn't work. He lasted 5 years.
