Keeping it short. Maybe.

I have had to cover for my coworkers way more than I like. They are not stupid but they are ignoring their duties and I am fucking pissed about it and too fucking tired. It is impacting my life in ways I don't want to talk about and it is bullshit.

If I have to deal with one fucking more thing this weekend that they were supposed to deal with I am going to fucking go off. This has been going on for months and I am done with it. I am done doing it for them.

Rant over (maybe). Kind of pissed off since I keep having my life fucked up because some jerk wont do their fucking job.

Why the FUCK do I keep ending up with people like this. At one point I had a damn good team I worked with and we kicked ass and things were awesome. Took care of each other and when shit hit the fan it was a war room and we moved on.

I am Tired, I am so fucking tired.

Even then. I am doing your job for you because people rely on that job getting done. Have some fucking self respect and respect for those that need the job done.

Fucking damn it.

[Edit] Maybe this should be in rant. I don't know. I am just having a not so great week. Thanks for anyone listening. Fucking damn it.

It sounds like you have a fat woman coworker who pretends to to fix respirators all day, but really sits on her fat ass playing Candy Crush and just enters bullshit numbers into the tracking system to make the boss think she is doing something. Either that or some lazy prick that just browses Reddit all day and has a huge backlog of work that doesn't bother him, but those pieces of medial equipment are needed in a bad way. If either of those are are remotely close to what you have going on, the place you work at has a VERY shitty manager who doesn't notice anything, and just likes to receive the sucking up that all of the lazy ass kissers do. Unless you can get that manager replaced, seriously consider finding a job elsewhere. Yes, you might not find something as close to home or would have to take a pay cut because the plave you're at gets government funding and doesn't care (yet) about wasting money. But the effect this is having on your health is taking years off of your life. This is your life, and you only get one of this life. Don't spend it being miserable, the you bring that home with you and it can put a wedge between you and your wife. If that place is managed so poorly, it could end up going under or having all of its funding pulled one day, so finding a different job now, even with a bit less.pay, might be a good stepping stone to something even better.

You should talk to them, or simply stop doing their job and let them face the consequences.

If I don't do the job people might die. I won't allow that to happen if I can do something about it. This is not the first time I have been in a job like this even though I am a "tech" guy.

It is complicated. I will do what I can to make sure that their lack of willingness is "noticed".

At first I was thinking it was more of a you problem since you can't seem to say "no" and take on more responsibility than you should have to... The "people might die," would seem to be an issue for most so I understand your concern now.

Im in a different boat than you as I have also had pretty much the same circumstances in one job I had a few years back. Once I was able to ensure "people may die" is not my responsibility, I stopped caring. It does suck at times bc I was at the point you are at currently. I am now at a point where I have zero empathy unless it concerns my family and that circle is literally 3 people. Once you lose that touch of humanity, I don't know if it's ever possible to get it back. That's the part that sucks and even if noticed through introspection it just becomes easier to go with the flow and become too jaded to care.

Do you have someone higher up to share your concerns with about these lazy niggers?

I’m sorry you’re having a tough week. I’ve been in your place except no one’s life was depending on the work, but it was important and so I was very frustrated. Another difference was that not everyone on my team was competent and capable, so I blamed management for their continued employment.

I don’t know what else you can do if you’ve already brought this up to management and the team. But the stress and frustration you’re experiencing is not worth a job. If you continue you could ruin your health and sanity. I’d start an exit plan. Make sure everyone knows you’re done, but that you’re willing to train someone new who cares about the life or death situation. Your deadline should be reasonable, but contract to stay on additional months with exponentially increasing compensation. At some point management will be so squeezed by the finances that they’ll either compel the remainder of the team to do their jobs or find someone who will.

Good luck, and thank you for caring so much about strangers that you are doing everyone else’s job. I hope that you are able to take a hike or have a barbecue today and have some enjoyment before you start your week again.

Let me guess, your managers and company owners are all boomers?
