The crazy thing is there is also a holiday gap there. There's nothing competing.

I think interesting deserts are in order. Trifle, apple pie, (is it too early for pumpkin), red white and blue jello with whipped cream. It's great because you can get the start of winter deserts, but still pull off a summer one.

It should be a little bit like thanks giving except the desert course is legitimately bigger than the main course. Like you eat a little bit to say you actually ate something real and then the real party starts. A recommended main dish would be burgers (like 1) because it's your last chance to grill outside, but not required.

It is also the middle of apple season so apple picking is a traditional daytime activity on Sep. 3rd (so I declare). Raspberries are also in season and can be used in your jello. Looking at it the very front of pumpkin harvest just started so the pumpkin pie works. Sweet corn is in harvest too which will go with the burgers.

Do we want to do it together like ochodepoal? I could set up a subverse.

I like the apple angle. Maybe you-pick and starting your yearly batch of homemade cider should be considered trappings of the holiday.

Gonna have to mull it over. I feel like there's a lot you could do with this.

Oh yeah and make a subverse.

What should the holiday be called?

Treaty of Paris day or 3rd of September, just like Independence day and 4th of July.
