Cash buyer, no financing, quick close.

Many memories at the old home. Sad to see it go, especially my "Garage Mahal". The house is just a split foyer, but the garage is HUGE like barn. Gonna miss that garage!

That's great, we have to move forward. Enjoy life as much as possible because it's too damn short. Do what makes you happy good sir. Congrats.

Thank you! I should have sold it about 12 years ago, but I kept hanging onto it thinking I would do the full blown renovation. Rented it to a gen x carpenter guy that used to live in the neighborhood who begged me to let him live there and said he would do some of the work for me. About 3 months in he turned out to be a pillhead. I had stuff stored over my garage, about $20K of stuff was stolen and all kinds of damage to the house. It really set me back.

So many losers out there. You did the right thing just letting it go. I had to sell my beautiful home because I left my crazy ex wife. I had to downsize and let so much "Stuff" go. Now I'm happy in my smaller home with a small yard. It has a nice private back yard that I'm making into a little paradise. It's fun now, instead of a chore or a burden. I golf 2 - 4 x a week. Ride my motorcycle and hang with my grandkids. Stuff no longer matters. I have everything I need. I almost never know what day it is lol 😆

I know what you mean about chores and burden. Painting, staining, raking, mowing, weed whacking, picking up limbs, limbing, repairs ... I think I need to make the old homestead as burden free as possible. Vinyl shingle siding, Andersen replacement windows, 50 year architectural shingle roof, new paved driveway, better landscaping, point up the old brick chimney ... on the to do list and future me will be very pleased. The house is small enough, all natural wood trim, hard oak floors, old school style that my Dad built when he was 29. I was about 5 when he built it ... and I "helped", lol!

Blackrock via one of their thousand "real estate buyers"?

They are going to rent your house out to a bunch of "refugees" from the Sudan. Make sure to move far away.

Nope, I wouldn't sell to jews no matter how desperate I was to get rid of it. The buyer is a friend of my neighbor, he wants to fix it up for his 20-something daughter to rent to own. Really nice guy. Good family. The right kind of people.

Good for you! The guy I bought my house from turned down an equal cash offer (investor) to sell to my wife and I instead because we were prime to start a family. We were very fortunate.

Older folks that have sentimental value for a home they have lived many years often have that mindset. If I ever sell the old homestead that I grew up in (where I am now, not the other house that I am selling), I'd love to have a young family buy and make their great famiily memories there.

People like you always do.

You want to elaborate on that?

Think the proper response to his comment should be:

Simple as.

I rented it to a gen X a few years ago, they turned into pill heads and just about destroyed it, stole a bunch of stuff I had stored there too. It holds few happy memories for me.

I made the mistake of storing shit at a rental too. Tenants fucking suck.

You bet I can relate. Cops weren't even interested unless I had caught him in the act.

Congrats! I've had my place on the market 14 days now and no hits yet. I don't know if it is too soon to be discouraged or not!!

Thanks! I didn't get around to list this - a neighbor inquired about buying it for his son to live in about a year ago, but decided it was more work than they wanted. They had a close friend that they later told about it and they were very interested to buy it for their 20:something daughter to rent. They loved the idea of getting a house for their daughter to "rent to buy" nearly across the street from their close friends. It needs a good bit of work after a rental disaster but still has great bones for a full remodel and priced fairly - lots left on the bone, at this point in my life I'm just not interested in spending my time going through that remodel just for the $$$. I'm happy to be rid of it, they are thrilled to get it.

Good luck on your sale! Hope you get one faster than I did, lol!
