Trump would not just answer the damn questions and they repeatedly made him look foolish by reminding him over and over what the question was because he kept rambling on about previous questions.
Rebuttal time was promised in the debate rules. Trump raised his hand many times to rebut Biden's answers, at first CNN recognized Trump and allowed the rebuttals, then they started purposefully ignoring his requests. Trump would motion a response with his hand yet the moderator would just read off the next question. Trump's solution was to rebut Biden at the first opportunity to answer the next question. A few of their "new" questions to Trump were repeated to Trump because Trump did not answer their "new" question during his time spent tebutting Biden's prior answer. That's what I saw. Trump didn't look stupid, just annoyed. I think the only question he ignored was the J6 question in which he masterfully turned around on Biden and denied CNN the answer they wanted.
I agree for the most part except I do think it made him look foolish. Many of his rebuttals were saying the same thing over and over or patting himself on the back. For example, they had to ask him about the opioids 3 or 4 times, he just would NOT answer the question, at all, it was like he was deaf. She was all Mr Trump, again, the question is about opioids blah blah blah. Not a good look for him.
made him look foolish
That was the goal of the opponent, 2 TDS afflicted moderators, 29 NPC fact checkers, multiple cameramen, etc. Maybe Trump could have done better in responding to a couple of the questions, but overall Trump dominated and got his message out.
Did you notice when Biden was talking bullshit and Trump started shaking his head in disagreement in the side-by-side view CNN instantly switched to the far away wide view camera so the video audience could not clearly see Trump's reactions? They did this at least 4 times that I recall. As soon as Trump stopped shaking his head they went back to the side-by-side view.
I found it hard to believe but I think this was the fairest Trump debate the (((MSM))) created yet. Sure Biden had the answers before the debate, was juiced up on meds, biased moderators ignoring Trump's motions to rebut Biden, other nasty tricks to throw favor to Biden ... but it was a less nasty production than any of their prior debates.
