I had forgotten about it all until about maybe 5-7 years ago or so when a black colleague at the time was excited to talk about it because it had come up and none of us remembered exactly what it was about. He had it right and wasn't woke about it, but would be today. So glad I work from home now.

I get why it was celebrated in Texas but making it a national holiday is nonsense. If nothing else on the grounds that government workers absolutely do not deserve another paid day off.
