Not only that, but even from a distance, you can tell how bad it was.
"scre-bumk" is a fender bender. "Screeeeeeeeeech-BaBOOM!!!" is a bad one.

I heard those two 'sounds' in my head. Very well described. ;-)
If my computer keeps running after 2 years, I start calling it Mike.
I just sat down on the sofa with my first cup of coffee, heard a truck go by here and a couple seconds later "CRASH!!!" No squealing tires, nothing, and silence. Like he plowed straight into into a pole or something. Then I heard moaning as I left the house to investigate. The trees obscured the view of the road so I couldn't see exactly what happened until I got there. The young guy was laying on the ground bleeding, groaning and moaning. The older guy was clutching his chest. Gasoline, diesel and antifreeze permeated the air and puddled under the trucks. A neighbor across the street brought out a folding chair for the older guy to sit down, his chest hurting and hands shaking. He thought he might have broken ribs.
