I'm no web statistician but isn't engagement measured on numbers of comments (or quality of comments) on posts? Counting uptoots on a birthday post is not a fair proxy for site engagement IMHO.
I'm using "engagement" here as general interaction with Poal content and discussion. I'm not concerned about the (((advertiser))) definition used on website metrics.
So you think the interaction with content and discussion is on a downtrend? My sense is that it is stable or expanding. But perhaps that is just my expectations lowering to meet reality :)
I wonder what is the average # posts / day and # comments / day, and whether those metrics are increasing, stable, or decreasing over the past many years.
So you think the interaction with content and discussion is on a downtrend?
Poal used to be able to fill my day with enough content. It doesn't do that any longer. Content post quantity has steadily declined after 2022. After 10 PM eastern time Poal goes to sleep. It's dead for hours. It didn't use to be that bad. So yeah, definitely on a downtrend.
