I need to dust off my old JV-80.
Some good stuff there
Thanks!

YES! DO IT!
Poal could use some more synth people doing music things. That's the only thing I miss from Reddit. They had a great synth community when I left so many years ago.
It's so old that the keys are sticking; the glue they used melted with time. I need to dismantle it completely to fix it.

Oh yeah, the Roland JVs had that "red glue" problem IIRC. I know it can be a pain in the ass to get them cleaned up again, but you should definitely do it. A lot of my gear has been rescues I bought in a non-working, for parts kind of sale. I've brought nearly all of it back to life with various amounts of work. I currently have a Roland XP-50 project that is in great shape but produces no sound at all. I'm yet to diagnose its problem and repair it, but I really want to get it working again since it only cost me $80. My recently acquired Waldorf Blofeld is also in need of some work but it settles down after being powered up for about 10 minutes. Sounds like flaky capacitors that need replacement.
Yeah, do try to bring that JV-80 back to good working condition. I hate to see vintage synths suffering in silence. There's lots of videos on cleaning up the red glue problem out on YT so hopefully you can get it going again.
