They were out loud and proud on counters, then it went to behind the counter, then to a display of stuff maybe on the back shelf behind the clerk, now they seem to be completely gone.

Snake oil at it's best. The stuff was stupid expensive as well.

I wouldn't call it snake oil. It's still where I would normally find it. Maybe it's just you?

I don't know. Just all the places that jumped on the bandwagon seem to have quietly dropped it.
