RE: Verizon, I live in the woods up north and I can get 30-40 mbps through my phone hotspot, sometimes better.
I’ve been on a mountain, very rural and have blazing mobile speed and 100mb home internet.
In a different mountain, 1 bar and dial up speed. If not for bad luck, no luck.
I have both starlink and verizon 5g. Prior to this I was on DSL. I can sympathize with your story

Investigate the possibility of a lawsuit for false advertising on the part of the seller and their representative.
In the meantime, see about using the hotspot on your phone for your laptop.
That’s what I’ll be doing but it is metered. I pay almost $90/month post pay to have a lot of hotspot data but for what I do. It burns quickly. One move is to transfer files to my phone then upload that way to not burn metered hotspot.
My speed test gave me 2mb down 770kb up. Yikes!

Modern business requires multiple programs and video conferencing, 15mbps is great, if all you want is a 480 x480 window rocking 10fps.
