Nicotine gum, when used as directed, damages tooth enamel and gums. It's not chewing gum. It's occasionally crushed and held between the lip and gum to deliver the drug. You might as well use tobacco packets as an alternative to chew. You're still increasing the risk of lip and jaw cancer. I will not argue against the use of nicotine gum to quit smoking. It does work for many people. All I'm saying is that I agree with OP; it's not the same.

Is breathing water vapor better than breathing smoke? It depends on what is suspended in the matrix. I'd suggest that drowning sucks as much as dehydration. Over hydrated avioli exposed to nicotine are as suseptible to disease as those inflamed by smoke.

That's a bunch of bullshit. Nicotine gum does not increase the risk of lip and jaw cancer. This has been studied to death.

It also does not damage tooth enamel (as long as you aren't grinding your teeth). Nicotine is basic, not acidic. It also doesn't work if your mouth is acidic. It has to be slightly alkaline for you to absorb the drug. If anything it increases saliva production which calcifies your teeth.
