Just chitchat

There's also an old lady who does my ironing for cheap, and her sister died this year; she's all alone now. I talk with her a little bit when I drop off or pick up clothes from her. I think a friend and I should make dinner for her and just give her some company.

Hmm… all of this sounds very “white.”

Maybe you could ask your hundred year old neighbor what he remembers from when he was a teenager. That’s the only thing you could do that would be “whiter” than your kind heartedness.

I mean don’t push it. If they want to offer it they will let you know. But do it. My best one was “well it feels strange living in the world today because I remember the antebellum days.“ My worst one was “I usually say I served in Korea but I was actually in Germany with the OSS right after World War II.”
