Here is the brief history.

  1. VPN fired up, opened Tor browser a month or two ago
  2. Created burner email account via Tor Browser
  3. Used burner email to open a new Gab.com account (also via Tor Browser)
  4. Posted a lot of JQ facts, got a bunch of followers etc, only using Tor Browser
  5. Made a reply about HT possibly being controlled opposition, immediately blocked by the OP and gang raped by HT groupies
  6. Next morning: I can log in, but I can't post. Everything is a "403 status" when I try to post or comment.

New tor circuits don't fix it (I've tried at least 100 times). No changes to my Tor version or anything else. I guess I'm banned from Gab.

The timing is suspicious.

Edit: so I figured it out. They started blocking Tor exit nodes for comments and reactions. The account wasn't shadow banned.

The entire internet is a honeypot.

It's a scale. If you fuck around using Chrome and/or no VPN, you are vulnerable to dragnet surveillance and an easy target.

If you use VPN and a non-Chrome browser, you're still pretty easy to target via device fingerprinting - and most of the extensions to prevent this don't really work that well.

If you use VPN and Tor or i2p, you are a hell of a lot harder to target. Unless there's a state actor doing traffic analysis to match communication between you and your VPN service and the exit node of the Tor network, you are pretty safe.

I've yet to use i2p or tails; my "threat" model is basically saying "nigger, jew, tranny" and that's about it. When things get really ugly then I'll seriously use them.

I've used tails from a USB drive. It works. I would use it if there was a way to have a persistent password manager. It might have that, not sure.

Ideally use Tor without vpn. I always have trouble with gab on tor, it's super slow probably from all the ad servers and scripts they want to nail you with.

In my opinion HT is way too ostentatious and manufactured. He's a caricature.

I agree about HT. Total caricature and manufactured.

All that security is unnecessary. VPN. Burner email is all you need.
Tor is honey pot and for pedos. Gab is mad based this is the first time hearing any shit about it. Probably shilling.

Are you nuts? VPN providers can be compromised, and even if they aren't, haven't you heard of device fingerprinting?

Muldavine or what ever vpn. You can pay using Monero. Use code. They don’t know who you are, no logs, no care.

Sure. But I’m sure if there’s a list of antisemites and right wings types. We are already on it. Me making a gab account and using free speech isn’t against the law. I would imagine going to right wing places in Europe or Australia may be more dangerous, but I don’t think they put that much effort into things that they already know.
Unless you got video and or evidence that you wanna drop a journalistic story or something. You’d use tails, coffee shop or library, leave phone home, Tor network, cleopatra on a Craigslist laptop, paid with cash, verified through paid phone with cash. That you leave somewhere in the city in hidden spot. Otherwise shitposting truth about jews on gab in the US is not a criminal act.

I'm not sure you understand the full scope of fingerprinting that you think adding Tor on top of a VPN is doing anything to protect you from fingerprinting.

VPN providers can be compromised

Why would you use a VPN if you didn't trust them. That makes zero sense. Tor on top of a VPN is pointless.

Enlighten me on how connecting to a good VPN and then to Tor using their browser isn't protecting me from device fingerprinting, considering that Tor browser is already configured in a way that the fingerprint is identical to every other Tor browser lol.

Tor itself isn't a honeypot any more than firefox is. The services you can access via tor are where the danger lies. If you're not into that evil shite don't go looking for it, simple as that.

I don't really do the dark web. It's usability sucks. I use tor for clear web browsing when I don't want my activity easily linked to my IRL identity.

[–] 2 pts

Same. I'll peek the dark web but that's it because there really is dark stuff out there. No thanks.

Gab is garbage. The owner is on some weird mission..also it seems just so stale and dead inside.

Most honeypots run almost exclusively closed source software
