i worked as seasonal help there for two christmases. we got paid $8 and $10 an hour respectively lol.

it wasn't bad. i sat in the truck with the driver on this flap of metal... i got the same guy both years and we would smoke cigarettes and he'd bitch about his ex-wife. sometimes his girlfriend would bring us coffee and sandwiches.

all i can say is its hard on your knees. the old chinks living 8 people to a single family house won't sign for anything, UPS had a retarded computer system that lived in a theoretical world without weather or traffic, and more than once we met up with guys in yellow penske trucks well after dark to take packages from them in parking lots.

The drivers start at like 10 in the morning so its not like they really work late, and fuck the vacation time they get.

Those dark brown trucks unairconditioned trucks are rolling heat strokes in the high-humidity 100-degree summers of the SE U.S., and no better in the winter. They roll into the evenings until the last packages are delivered. The drivers are pushed for speed but fired if in an accident.

I wouldn't do it for $45 an hour.

Maybe not. But I've driven an asphalt spreader in July heat with 300 degree mix coming out of the truck.

UPS guys work their ass off, whatever you think of Teamsters.
