If you must get in touch with me, call me. The phone will make noise. An annoying noise. Then it will beep and you'll be prompted to leave a voice mail. Then you'll be told the mailbox is full and be cut off. If you really need to talk to me, call again. And again. And again. If you call me back 3x, I'll know it's serious. If you call me back 4x or more, it's a death in the family.

I see you are familiar with these new-fangled portable telephones. Still amazing to me. Granted, we're still not at the slap-your-communicator instant messaging stage yet, but it's only a matter of time. In science fiction, knowing a thing can be done is halfway to figuring out how to do it.
