It's over. Yep, it's over. We tried our best, but the entire project just collapsed like a house of cards. We knew the risks, we signed the papers, James' family was highly compensated by the insurers. The technology will be shelved, we can't have it killing the end users, but when it comes down to it, it's just not ready. The backers won't be happy, but even they knew the risks.
...was not one of the things said during the tests. Everyone was professional, but one little piece of the technology didn't work. No one was really sure what it was, but a spark jumped a gap where it wasn't supposed to. In short, an artificial lightning bolt jumped from the probes to a person. It wasn't pretty, and there will be some that need a lot of counseling to get back to anything resembling normal. But that's all part of the game in R&D, isn't it?
