I know you all think reddit is still good for niche forums. I haven't found this true. I've found asking a question to a general group of incredibly smart people on poal get's way better answers and quicker. On any topic.

People on reddit, even in niche forums often are dunning kruger smart. They give you the cookie cutter box advice any "main stream person" would give.

I've found this from renovating questions, to programming questions, musical / instrument questions, anything. The people on poal are way smarter and way more broadly life experienced and "renaissance men" than anything on even reddit niche forums. Reddit is lefty right think echo chamber. Filled with cat fuckers, virtue signaling child molesters. Some threads like computer Linux stuff can be helpful. But it’s hard to swallow the extra progressive thought comments and bullshit stuff.
