When a country joins NATO, they basically outsource their military to it. Most European NATO members have severely low budget for military, and keep numbers down to a minimum "NATO requirement", which is ridiculously low and such military strength is nowhere near adequate to defend a country. Not to mention forcing their military to fight in kike foreverwars in Middle East and renting them out as mercenaries.
