Sorry! I lost an uncle in Korea myself. I'm probably your uncle's age, but was lucky, was never drafted. Here's to your uncle!!!

Thank you! Both my grandads served in ww2, but they made it home unscathed.

Grandad Bill was in the merchant marine, 1st mate of a freighter. One of his ships got torpedoed by a japanese sub, and he spent 2 weeks in a life boat before rescue. Folks forget about all the people who served in the background (support roles) and don't think that without them nothing would have gotten done.
