Well it’s kind of a long story, first norton was a set of system utilities for Mac OS and they were good, then they sold out and became anti virus software, then they became a shitty anti virus software, then they become a shitty anti virus software with a fuck ton of memory leaks and yeah fuck them.

But why does everyone trust Norton then?

What would you recommend in place of Norton?

A Linux-based operating system.

Well this site has my respect for real reviews on software without a lot of bullshit. Here is their security page and unlike norton "symantic" everything is free. https://www.techsupportalert.com/best-free-windows-desktop-software.htm?page=7

Here's the main category page just click a category and it'll give you a list a rating and a review for each piece. https://www.techsupportalert.com/best-free-windows-desktop-software.htm

Well when I used windows this was my favorite program. It's a 4 pane replacement for windows explorer. It has 4 panes and remembers the directory for each pane. So if you have a folder or images, movies, downloads and something else you open the program and your at all of them. It's really fast and stable. http://www.softwareok.com/?seite=Freeware/Q-Dir/Screenshots If they had this for Linux I would install it. It's a beautiful fast program and the one thing I miss about windows, the only thing.
