I like the king toe option. They keep deleting the options. Im trying to order some today and there is only a few at there out of town stores. they try to sell me some with inferior leather. I just want the ones with at least top grain. Cambodia seems to be where most are made now. It sucks you cant even buy what your use to.

And as an aside I have a pair of danner pull ons, they got old so I ordered a new pair same size. They are way bigger and dont fit right. Same company same size. Shit aint right.

I tried Redwing boots a few months back on a recommendation from fellow Poal-ers. Easily one of the worst shoes I have ever owned, and I returned them within the trial period. The leather refused to conform and flex and got deep gouges from everyday wear and tear. I had much better success with a pair of Timberland boots. Oh, and same experience for me: The 300 boots were NOT american made. The american made boots are 500...

For $500 you can get a pair of Nicks

Im a redwing fan, you got to get the inserts also. Yeah I have a few bitches but they are still better than many, many other brands I have worn. Remember Rocky? fuck they totally suck now but back then they where the bomb.

Danner's are decent in my experience.

Bad for water though, once they get a year old your socks get wet by your second step in morning grass. Right through the stitching holding the soles on.

Wear insulated steel toe rubber boots

Unfortunately I dislike steel toe because they don’t conform to my feet, causes pain, and the climb am in is a place where half the people wear crocs or sandals.

It has to do with the construction, and my other boots that have a full sealed welt don’t have that issue.

yeah except when the same model isnt the same size anynore.
