Companies used to actually take care of hard working employees. It was something they actually took pride in. I'm not sure when this changed but I believe it was in the 60s when the mentality of companies shifted.

A man working in a factory doing basic labor could afford to buy a home and raise a family with enough left over to build a nest egg. Once retirement came at 60 they would be well taken care of by the company that they dedicated 30 years of their life to. It was genuine mutual respect. It was common for companies to gift retiring employees nice gold watches.

Now people doing essentially the same jobs make a hair over minimum wage while struggling to support just themselves. If they have retirement benefits at all they are not enough to live off of.

I really think America as it used to be is dead. America died a long time ago. The train of destruction is traveling so fast downhill that there is no stopping its momentum. America will remain but it will not resemble anything even remotely close to the original America.

This is what I refer to as a sad reality similarly to the death if a loved one. No matter how bad you wish it were untrue it is true nonetheless. This is why I think the best you can do is create a bubble of happiness around you and your family. Find a way to be happy despite the world burning around you. This is something you do have control over.

In reality everyone who reads this probably has a really great life all things considered. We forgot that sometimes.

God bless.

The oligarchs who run America now see more profit in gutting the US and taking their operations overseas. This is the reason US industry has declined. It was artificially and deliberately crippled and raped by these bastards. They care nothing about the well-being of the American people, and nothing about the survival of the United States. They are globalists, and they intend to suck America dry like the giant spider they are, and spit out its desiccated corpse.

Wrong. Fuck witted voters. Pieces of shit ignoramus female and soyboy bitch voters did this.

Those fucking cunts wanted muh min wage. Muh holiday pay. Muh max hours and many other socialist regulations.

Well dip shits. When you pit free market economies like china's in the 80s and 90s against that shit. You lose big time.

And now it's 2022. China is an covert enemy soon to be overt and you yanks can no longer make shit. What you do make is over priced and lacking anything note worthy.

Your navy is rusting in old hulks. All your new build designs are project failures.

Your fucked.

But hey at least you demanded industrialists pay your demands or else

A while ago I watched an old documentary filmed in (I think) Detroit at a car factory, wish I could remember what it was called.

Well it was about the lack of satisfaction factory workers would have after a short time in the position and what companies could do to change this.

They interviewed one of them and he was saying how he hated his soulless job and wished he had been a plumber or a carpenter instead like his other friends. He took the factory job because it was supposed to be glamorous but it really wasn't.

Just pointing this out because it's easy to look back on the past with rose coloured glasses and although there are many great things about our past I don't think that factory work is one of them. Just imagine having exactly the same routine day in, day out for 20-30 years.

I disagree. It is a huge flaw in thinking to expect to do something that you love for a living. That is unrealistic for most people, its just something that will not happen. A better way to look at it is that work is something you do in order to fund you passions outside of work. Work is an ends to a mean. It is a tool which allows you to pursue what you love outside of work.

Read about Jack Welch at GE. He kicked started the situation.

I was thinking the exact same thing yesterday.

The following generations are gonna have it hard...

Back when it was legal not to fund the pension plan enough to actually pay everyone's pension. After ERISA private pensions really want off a cliff, maybe because they had to fully fund them.

People in factories used to have a work ethic, skills, a desire to learn, and pride in their achievements.

That's all gone now as well.

Why bother, you're probably employed on 6 month contracts at minimum wage with no other benefits or entitlements.

The same here in Germany. Companies used to build whole neighborhoods and give the houses to the workers. It's not uncommon to find monuments erected by the workers thanking some director of a company. Jews brought all that to an end with the globalism.

Have to pay for the women somehow, and as well the extra men needed to clean up after them.
