Over the past few weeks I bought a low end high end (that's what I call it) Felt mountain bike. It retailed at about $700. I bought it used for $200 and it was in like new condition.

I wanted to put some better parts on it so I upgraded the following components: installed hydraulic disc brakes, upgraded suspension fork, pedals, headset, grips, tires, chainring, rear cassette and crankset.

I fully tuned it and also converted it from a 3 x 8 drivetrain to a 1 x 8 drivetrain. This eliminated the front derailleur. It went from 33lbs to 29lbs and now it is a pretty respectable mountain bike.

I enjoyed this product and I feel thankful to have a nice bike.

I love to trail ride but I ride around the city more. I only ride mountain bikes because I like to jump curbs and I ride on the sidewalk and alleys. I cannot stand the cyclists who ride in the road. Many of them don't leave room for cars to pass. They also tend to be moody assholes who get mad when you do pass them and then there's the spandex. I will never be like that.

Agree. I think I might understand the city ride thing because I did that as a kid. I can't ride on the road since to many asian people driving cars, I'd be safer riding the in West Baltimore.
