If you watch that Netflix show about formula 1 you realize that very few of the drivers are in their positions because they're actually good at driving. Most are in their positions because they have some relation to a very rich guy who is funding a formula 1 team simply because it's something he always wanted to do. And there are a very few number of formula One drivers and probably at least half of them are there because of nepotism or some other relationship to the very rich guy that is the only reason the team exists.
