Well I have had it a month now and it is perfect. I never realized how thick leather furniture is so it holds up really well. No scratches or anything.

My cat destroyed mine on day one...

Cats can be furniture shredders. They love to use the fronts of the arms of sofas for scratching pads. My cat never scratches any of the furniture. Instead, he vomits on my bed and on the livingroom rug. Not on the hardwood floor or the ceremic tile floor in the kitchen, but on the rug. You haven't lived until you've stepped into cat vomit in the dark with bare feet at 3 in the morning.

I honestly prefer virtual pets. Zero maintenance. When my father bought me a cat and dog and I watched them both grow and die I decided never again. Too much pain and suffering. An endless circle of torment.

Now I see.

yep, I've been there too... it's probably some universal experience of cat owners, the 'ole 3am cat vomit squish...

I brushed a ton of loose hair from my cat. I threw the lump in front of her, and the dumb ass paws at it, and then hisses at me when I tried to stop her from eating it. Then she stuffs the hairball in her mouth and she spends the next 20 minutes trying to spit out all the fur she just tried to eat.

Train your cat by applying aluminum foil and/or double sided tape to the areas where it scratches. Put multiple scratchers nearby their favorite spots. Eventually the cat will learn to use the scratchers instead and you can remove the deterrents.

My cat destroyed my very thick leather couch immediately, but I still love her

Use armorall wipes on it once a month.

Yes, faux leather is thinner than paper and crappy, and real leather is nice and substantially thick.

I have observations of this canine behavior I have logged in my ongoing journals that I compile for my lengthy database.

It might be planning something. If it is a cunning individual concocting a plot of massive destruction and it wants to evade attention or punishment this could potentially become a chaotic situation.

We need to take the canine to a veterinary psychologist just to be safe and I would make sure you protect the couch with furniture protector film and set up a spy camera while utilizing booby traps.
