I dated a crazy woman for 5 years. I knew she had bipolar but I didn't really understand what it meant. For the first 4.8 years she was completely normal. Then one day it was like a switch was flipped and she was a completely different person. She didn't sleep for days, was paranoid and heard voices talking to her. She also decided she didn't love me and told me I had to move out of our home immediately or she would tell the police I was beating her. Of course nothing even remotely close to that ever happened. I tried so hard to get her help but there was none. It was the most frustrating and scary thing I've ever been through and I have fought in war. This was harder on me.
