There is a massive disconnect between freight brokers, companies that hire brokers, truckers, and people with actual knowledge on the areas that are being serviced.
It fucking sucks, and I mostly blame the brokers for not looking up the pickup and delivery destinations on good street view. They make the companies and truckers look like idiots.
Yeah when he called I had him stop 3/4 of a mile from where I am at and went and got it, tight curves and only fields to turn around in. Street view doesnt go down private roads, if they do they better not get caught.
They need to assume private roads cannot accommodate a 53' trailer. Shit needs to be on a straight truck or single pup
I have the same problem, although I'm in a philly. So many of the truckers they send are not used to old cities with tiny tertiary streets, and they often get stuck because they simply cannot make turnss
Had me in a twin screw with a 48 footer doing a city route. Side streets with double parked cars , stupid nigger and spic drivers doing stupid nigger and spic moves, crowding lights at intersections , yeah , fucking sucked.
Single pup?
I expected a box truck, not a contracted out 18 wheeler from home depot..
You wouldn't believe where they try and send us . Every friggin stop I have to check the map satellite view before heading there because the retards running the show will send you down a damn goat path.
Of course if you get stuck or hit anything it's entirely the drivers fault.
I used to live around there, and for whatever reason, I have seen a shit-ton of 53' attempt to go through there, I guess because it is between American street and a lot of delivery locations close to the ports.
There is no possibility of getting through. Even a 26' box truck would have a hard time getting through with the way people park.
If I have time, I help, and give them eyes, but more often than not, I would just pass by and chuckle.
But good on you for actually checking before you go.
