A lot of these shooters are under the age of 21, very immature and emotionally undeveloped. They are just kids and the amount of growth between 18 and 21 can and often is substantial. I think this would actually prevent fairly large percentage of these mass shootings. For this to be dealt you must also raise the age of military consent to 21. Raising the age of firearms purchase while still expanding children to go kill in war at 18 is asking too much. If the age of both was raised to 21 I would support it.

Go back a few years ago and you could be 18 to buy tobacco products. No the age shouldnt be raised. Ive had my guns in my room years before i was 18. as far as mass shooters, i thought most of them hovered around the age 21. Hello. Las vegas shooter was in his 50s. Average age of a dui is 30 years old. Dont tell me its the age. Alcohol is way eaiser to get than a gun. And you get a license at the age of 16.

That is backwards thinking. Gun control doesn't stop crime and it doesn't help anyone except the government. Open carry constitutional gun rights orevent crime and help everyone. I was taught gun safety in public school in elementary. Everyone was. I got a Shotgun before I got a bike. When you grow up knowing the importance and danger of weapons you respect them and you respect their power.

Growing up seeing them as some magical item from the movies and video games is what causes this. The mysticism of the gun is removed when it is normalized.

Conceal carry kills. Gun restriction kills. Open carry and gun education saves lives.

not all of us were like that. Im 29 now but ive had to work hard for pretty much everything i own AND worked full time while going through engineering school. If feds have to supply the guns directly it will make the grooming process more difficult to cover up and make the process riskier.

Banning for any adults is stupid, in a scenario where we reform society to make age of majority 20 maybe i'd bite but if we went that far we should have solved more fundamental issues.

Gotta pass a background check right? and a minors criminal records are sealed after turning 18, even and especially from such background checks, meaning 18-19 year olds are unlikely to flag when they maybe should, why not require an over 21 to vouch for them, no financial or legal responsibility for vouching, Somebody saying "he's a good kid" ought to be enough, it wont stop blacks but if a white kid can't find an uncle or a friends father to vouch for them even if their parents are antigunners, maybe they shouldn't have a gun for a bit.
