And it's all been downhill ever since. There have been a few happy moments, but it's been at least 90% shit ever since then, and it just keeps getting worse no matter what I try to do to better my life. I'm probably gonna hero out like my dad when I was 2.

And it's all been downhill ever since.

Your downhill slide is attributable to 9/11? Is that what you're saying? Or are you referring to a societal slide?

Both my life and society altogether.

Both my life and society altogether.

Society's decline can clearly be laid at the feet of the ruling class; the 'elites' who think they know what's good for us peons better than we know ourselves. And no, I'm not referring only to elected officials.

I can't speak to your personal life. I can say that 9/11 had varying degrees of impact on all of us who were alive at the time. How we deal with it is what matters.

It seems like the symbolic message is lost on most people when it comes to 9/11

The symbol of 9/11 are the twin towers going boom, there were other targets that got hit, but that one represents the event in the eyes of the public

The twin towers were also known as WTC, as in World Trade Center

The destruction of the world's -> trade center

...

America was back then and still is to some extent, the world's trading floor, think wall street

The attack was all about bankrupting america ultimately, that's how I read it and there are corroborating elements going in that direction https://youtu.be/XHl1JnQoIWQ?t=284
