I am 55, and should not be tiling floors anymore. But in January I tiled a huge walk-in shower, then the rest of the bathroom, and the owners talked me into doing the entire house floors (2000 sq ft). The house is full of furniture. I laid the last tile today, and almost burst into tears. I am not an emotional person, but today is a GREAT fuckin' day, frenz.

If you spray it with water first, there is no dust. Cover the floor with a large plastic sheet, spray the ceiling with a garden hose set low, or use a pump-bottle. Use a wide drywall knife, and GENTLY scrape the popcorn off. Plop-plop-plop. Set up fans overnight, do any needed repairs with 45-minute plaster, sand, primer, paint.

Not apply but scraping it off the ceiling standing on an empty flipped compound bucket, you live in dust on those days.
