Geniuses, intellectuals, introverts, or just plain intelligent people usually lack interpersonal skills and are usually not material focussed.

They are usually chasing the next idea which is not always on target (tangents abound).

Geniuses like Tesla have great ideas but require funding from others. They are generally not profit focused.

Hence the need for profit minded mid-wits.

Management needs to be stupid enough to not interfere with the advancements of the intellectuals, and stupid enough to sign off on some of their ideas that they don't quite understand, but smart enough to recognize when they need redirection toward the company goal.

Otherwise intellectuals will continuously ponder the "what ifs" and debate one another.

Intellectual workers usually lack communication skills as well which leads to them thinking everyone is stupid and feeling like they're surrounded by Idiots. Idiots who can't imagine the implications or implementation of their ideas. Idiots who lack the ability to clearly see.

You use the word manager but you describe an entrepreneur. Is that what you meant? When I hear manager I think of a supervisor or someone who manages a project, like a project manager.

Social intellectual and communication skills are something you can learn. Intelligent people would understand this and seek to improve in areas they lack.

Managers are picked and promoted by their willingness to rat and screw people over, low IQ is already a part of that package.

From my experience people that lack interpersonal skills are not very smart and are far from geniuses and intellectuals.
