I'm just embarrassed for them. It's a proclamation to the world that they are afraid of something; that they have allowed themselves to be manipulated and brainwashed with lies. I want to pat them on the shoulder and say, "You don't need to wear this, friend. You never did." But I don't, because they have been conditioned to react with fanatical hostility and violence.

Yeah, my first impulse, when I see someone wearing a mask, is to try and educate them to the fact masks do not prevent transmission of viruses. But I always stop myself from saying anything, because like you said, I know what their reaction will be. The best I can do is not to shake my head and roll my eyes.
