I have a very keen ear and have been friends, acquaintances and roommates with drug addicts in the past. I can tell someone is a serious addict just by hearing their smokey, gravelly voice on the phone. If they have a somewhat scratchy monotone gravelly voice, then It's almost a dead giveaway that they're a piece of shit junkie - mostly from heroin. Or maybe I just have a very sophisticated and advanced radar for bullshit.

People who I didn't know (at the time) were addicts until I found out or it was too late. One of which was a family member.

Im really just fuckin with ya (kinda) . My opinion wont be popular but we did all kinds of things in our youth, nobody was fuckin being stupid dancing in the street or any of the other shit you see today. We were politely doing drugs while minding our own fuckin business.

Agreed. Using drugs isn't bad. Abusing them is.

Very true about the voice thing. High pitches will often change an octave or two while on opiates.
